‘The Raid 2’ Trailer: Rama Hits a Wall — and Plenty of Bad Guys (Video)

Indonesian martial artist Iko Uwais returns to battle a ruthless crime syndicate in the sequel to Gareth Evans “The Raid: Redemption”

“Raid: Redemption” star Iko Uwais shows off the speed and endurance of his fists as he beats a prison wall in the first trailer for “The Raid 2.”

Writer and director Gareth Evans’ sequel picks up two hours after the first film left off, following Rama (Uwais) as he goes undercover to infiltrate the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.

As Rama beats the cement out of a wall while stuck inside a prison cell, flashes of his violent activities outside of confinement promise he’ll be treating bad guys the same way.

Evans’ follow up to his critically-acclaimed 2011 martial arts film is being released in the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6 Films, but no date has been set  yet.

And if subtitles aren’t your style, then you can get excited for the English-language remake Screen Gems is currently developing.
