Rashida Jones, Andy Samberg Are Separated Soulmates in ‘Celeste and Jesse Forever’

“Celeste and Jesse Forever” looks at a divorced couple struggling with life apart

Rashida Jones and Andy Samberg are inseparable. Until they get divorced.

That’s the premise of “Celeste and Jesse Forever,” a romantic comedy that debuted at Sundance earlier this year and now has a trailer to plaster across the web.

In the film, which Jones co-wrote with Will McCormack, the “Parks and Recreation” star and Samberg try to remain close after dissolving their marriage, something that mystifies their friends and co-workers — including a solemn and bespectacled Elijah Wood.

While Jesse (Samberg) appears to meet someone else, Celeste (Jones) drifts in the pool, dons sweatpants and engages in all the other typical post-breakup activities.

Early reviews of the Lee Toland Krieger film have been positive, though not raves, using words like “likable” and “charming.” It should help expunge "That's My Boy" from the minds of Samberg fans everywhere.

Sony Pictures Classics is distributing domestically but there is still no release date. For now, here’s the trailer:
