Ratings: ‘New Girl’ Tops Again as Fox Wins Night

Zooey Deschanel comedy holds onto most of its big premiere audience

Fox's "The New Girl" was the top-rated show Tuesday in its second airing, holding on to most of its big premiere audience to lead Fox to win the night. But "Glee" continued to lose ratings, and CBS's new "Unforgettable" also slipped.

Beating its lead-in, "Glee," for the second week, "The New Girl" posted a strong 4.4/11 in the prized 18-49 demographic and 9.3 million total viewers. Airing at 9 p.m., it held most of its 4.8 rating from last week, losing 8 percent. "Glee," at 8, had a 3.6/10 and 8.3 million total viewers. It was down 10 percent from its premiere rating, which was down 29 percent from last season's premiere. "Raising Hope" at 9:30 had a 2.9/7 and 6.3 million total viewers. It was down six percent.

CBS was the second-highest rated network. "NCIS" at 8 had 4.2/12 and 19.2 million total viewers, making it the second highest-rated show of the night and the most watched overall. At 9, "NCIS: LA." had a 3.5/9 and 16.1 million total viewers. CBS's new "Unforgettable," at 10, shed 14 percent of its premiere rating, earning a 2.5/6 and 12.3 million total viewers.

ABC and NBC tied for third place. NBC's "Parenthood" climbed 5 percent to a 2.2/6 at 10 and 5.5 million total viewers. Its lead in, "The Biggest Loser," had the same ratings and share but 5.8 million total viewers.

ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" at 8 had a 1.8/5 and 9.3 million total viewers. Its results show at 9 had a 2.8/7 and 14 million total viewers. At 10, "Body of Proof" had a 1.9/5 and 9.4 million total viewers. It hit a series low after it slid 14 percent from last week.

On the CW, "90210" at 8 had a .8/2 and 1.7 million total viewers; "Ringer" at 9 had a .9/2 and 2 million. "90210" was up from last week's .7 rating, and "Ringer" was flat.
