Relativity Deploying ‘Act of Valor’ for Presidents Day Weekend 2012

Action thriller follows Navy SEALs on a mission to free a kidnapped CIA agent

Relativity Media will launch its action-thriller "Act of Valor" on President’s Day weekend in 2012, the studio announced on Thursday.

The Navy SEAL flick will debut on Feb. 17. It will square off against Nicolas Cage's "Ghost Rider" sequel and the Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine romantic comedy "This Means War."

Directed by Mike “Mouse” McCoy ("Dust to Glory") and Scott Waugh ("Step Into Liquid"), the film follows a Navy SEAL squads mission to save a kidnapped CIA agent and take down a web of terrorist cells. The screenplay is from Kurt Johnstad ("300").

Relativity acquired worldwide rights to market and distribute the film from the Bandito Brothers’.
