Apple has given a straight-to-series order to a comedy from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” duo Rob McElhenney and Charlie Day.

Set in a video game development studio, the untitled series will be written and executive produced by McElhenney and Day under their RCG banner. McElhenney is also attached to star.

The video game publisher Ubisoft will also produce the project, alongside the Lionsgate-owned 3Arts Entertainment. Michael Rotenberg and Nicholas Frenkel will serve as executive producers for 3Arts, with Gérard Guillemot, Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik executive producing for Ubisoft.

In addition to the 13th season of “Always Sunny” premiering on FXX next month, McElhenney is also co-writer on a Fox pilot, starring his wife and “Always Sunny” co-star Kaitlin Olson and Rob Riggle. That comedy is also executive produced Day and Glenn Howerton.

McElhenney and Day are represented by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern, LLP.
