Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen might have just revealed a major character spoiler for his role in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
“I read the script and it was very beautiful, and Felicity [Jones] is playing this lovely young, strong woman, and I play her… father.” Mikkelsen told Sky News. However, he quickly added, “That was too much, I’m sorry.”
So now we know Mikkelsen plays the father of Jones’ character, Jyn Erso. What this means in the grander scheme of things is unclear, seeing how much about the film has been kept under wraps.
And of course, we don’t know whether Mikkelsen was joking or not.
The movie follows a ragtag team of rebels attempting to steal the plans for the first Death Star prior to the events of “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope.”
Cast and filmmakers have been batting down speculation over the film’s plot and characters for months, with “The Force Awakens” star Daisy Ridley recently denying reports that Erso is her character’s mother.
“I’m not being funny you guys, but just because she’s white and got brown hair … it doesn’t mean she’s my mom,” she told MTV.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” will hit theaters on Dec. 16.
