"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn had 23 driving citations, including one for DUI, in the 13 years before he and his passenger were in killed in a fiery car crash, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Charges were dropped in Dunn's 2005 DUI arrest after he completed a probationary program and received a suspended license, the paper said, citing court records.

A man who drank with Dunn in the hours before his crash, meanwhile, described a binge in which Dunn had four shots and beer before getting behind the wheel.

The 34-year-old Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell, 30, were killed in West Goshen, Pa., when Dunn's Porsche 911 flew over a guard rail, hit a tree and burst into flames. Dunn had posted a picture of both of them drinking at a bar (above) just hours before the crash.

A preliminary coroner's report found that both were killed by blunt-force trauma and the flames. Tests to determine if alcohol was a factor were expected to take several weeks.

Dunn's friend and "Jackass" cohort, Bam Margera, lashed out at film critic Roger Ebert after Ebert tweeted that "Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive."

"I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical[ly] for a full day and piece of s— roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents about a jackass drunk driving and [he] is one, f— you!" Margera wrote. "Millions of people are crying right now, shut your fat f—ing mouth!"

Ebert responded Tuesday by offering his sympathy to Dunn's loved ones on his blog and saying, "I have no way of knowing if Ryan Dunn was drunk at the time of his death."

But he added: "I meant exactly what I wrote. I wasn't calling Ryan Dunn a jackass. In Twitter shorthand, I was referring to his association with 'Jackass.' I thought that was clear. I note that Bam Margera uses the word 'jackass' in the same way in his tweet."
