"The King's Speech" continued its week-long dominance of key awards contests on Sunday night, winning the feature film ensemble cast award from the Screen Actors Guild and reasserting its position as the clear favorite for the Best Picture Oscar.
As expected, Colin Firth won best actor for “The King’s Speech” and Natalie Portman won best actress for her role in “The Swan.”
“The Fighter,” David O. Russell’s boxing drama, yielded both supporting actor wins, with Christian Bale Melissa Leo taking home trophies.

Last year, all four individual acting winners in the SAG film categories — Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock, Christoph Waltz and Mo'Nique — went on to repeat those wins at the Oscars.
With wins from the Producers Guild, Directors Guild and Screen Actors Guild, plus a field-leading 12 Oscar nominations, “The King’s Speech,” Tom Hooper's historical drama has become the unassailable frontrunner, a position that seemed to be held by David Fincher's "The Social Network" only eight days ago.
The SAG Award was a must-win for that one-time frontrunner, whose hopes of riding an unprecedented critics-award sweep all the way to the Oscars were dashed by losses to "The King's Speech" at last weekend's Producers Guild Awards Saturday's Directors Guild Awards.
Although "The King's Speech" is ineligible for the Writers Guild Award on February 5, the picture is poised for multiple victories on Oscar night.
On the television side, "Modern Family" and "Boardwalk Empire" took ensemble honors.
In one of the best moments of the awards ceremony, Betty White received a standing ovation for winning best actress in a comedy series. The 89-year-old actress seemed truly stunned to win the award.
Proving her comic chops, White caressed the award trophy — a statuette of a man — and murmured, "ooooh."
The crowd ate it up.
