‘Samurai Jack’ Returning to Adult Swim in 2016

Animated series from creator and executive producer Genndy Tartakovsky will premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami block

“Samurai Jack” is back.

The Cartoon Network series from Genndy Tartakovsky will return with a new season in 2016 on Adult Swim’s Toonami block. New episodes are currently in production in Los Angeles.

No further details beyond Tartakovsky’s involvement have been announced, but the network released a poster and a brief clip to tease the series’ return.

In the original series, Phil Lamarr voiced Jack, a samurai transported into the future by the evil demon Aku. It ran for four seasons and earned 4 Primetime Emmys before ending its run in 2004.
