‘Saturday Night Live’: Woody Harrelson Shows ‘New Kid’ Billie Eilish Around in First-Day Promo (Video)

“True Detective” star will host season premiere on Sept. 28

Billie Eilish will be making her “Saturday Night Live” debut as the musical guest on this week’s season premiere, but luckily she’s got “SNL” veteran Woody Harrelson to show her the ropes.

In a new promo for the episode, the “True Detective” star introduces Eilish to the cast in a high school movie-style montage featuring a newly-promoted Heidi Gardner running for class president, “Weekend Update” co-hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che as a couple of ineffective bullies with a sadly forgotten Kenan Thompson standing by a water fountain.

Season 45 will be the show’s first without main cast member Leslie Jones, who announced her departure earlier this summer. To fill her spot, Gardner and Chris Redd have both been upped to series regulars, with newcomer Chloe Fineman and writer Bowen Yang added to the cast as featured players.

Harrelson and Eilish are kicking off the season this week, and they’ll be followed by newly minted Emmy-winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Taylor Swift on Oct. 5 and “Stranger Things” star David Harbour and Camila Cabello on Oct. 12.
