“Scandal” will end after the upcoming Season 7, according to TVLine.
The Kerry Washington political drama is currently airing its sixth season on ABC and was renewed in February.
“Scandal’s” 100th episode recently jumped 17 percent in the key 18-49 demographic week over week.
“‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ ‘Scandal’ and ‘How to Get Away with Murder’ continue to keep viewers on the edge of their seats and wanting more. I’m thrilled to bring back these shows and the OMG moments that come with them,” network president Channing Dungey said in a statement at the time of the renewal.
The network is expected to make a formal announcement about the end of “Scandal” at its upfront presentation Tuesday.
Thus far, ABC has not made many decisions about renewals, cancellations and new series pickups for the 2017-18 season. Only the three Shondaland shows and comedy “The Middle” have been given official renewals. New drama “Time After Time” has been canceled, while “Conviction” and “Notorious” are considered most likely canceled after the network declined to pick them up for full seasons.
