Ratings: ABC Scores Again With #TGIT Shondaland Night, Holds on to Second Place

CBS runs away with No. 1 spot with “Thursday Night Football”

ABC stayed strong on Thursday, but CBS proved once again that you just can’t top NFL football.

CBS was first in ratings with a 3.6 rating/11 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 11.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. The “Thursday Night Football” pregame show at 8 p.m. earned a 2.5/9 and 8.9 million viewers. The game itself at 8:30 scored a 3.9/12 and 12.5 million viewers — both predictably highs on the night.

ABC was second in ratings with a 2.7/8 and in viewers with 9.3 million. “Grey’s Anatomy” at 8 received a 2.4/8 and 8.4 million viewers. “Scandal” at 9 earned a 2.9/9 and 9.8 million viewers. “How to Get Away With Murder” received a 2.7/9 and 9.7 million viewers.

Fox, NBC and Univision tied for third in ratings, all with a 1.2/4. Fox was third in viewers with 5.1 million; NBC was fourth with 4.3 million; Univision was fifth with 3 million.

For Fox, “Bones” at 8 got a 1.6/5 and 6.4 million viewers. “Gracepoint” at 9 had a 0.8/3 and 3.8 million viewers.

For NBC, “The Biggest Loser” at 8 got a 1.3/4 and 4.7 million viewers. “Bad Judge” at 9 had a 1.2/4 and 4.7 million viewers. “A to Z” at 9:30 received a 1.0/3 and 3.4 million viewers. “Parenthood” at 10 was flat with a 1.3/4 and 4.1 million viewers.

The CW was sixth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in total viewers with 1.6 million. At 8, “Vampire Diaries” had a 0.9/3 and 1.9 million viewers. At 9, “Reign” received a 0.5/1 and 1.4 million viewers.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in total viewers with 1.2 million.
