“Scandal” star Bellamy Young has been cast as the lead of the ABC drama pilot “False Profits.”

Written and executive produced by “Code Black” alum Kayla Alpert, the dramedy follows a team of down-and-out women in suburban Arizona as they fight their way to the top of the cutthroat world of a multi-level marketing cosmetics business.

Young will star as Laura, a single mom of two kids who signs up for the scheme to get ahead.

Jason Reed and Sabrina Wind also serve as executive producers on the ABC Studios pilot under the Jason T. Reed Productions banner.

Should it go to series, “False Profits” would serve as Young’s follow-up to “Scandal,” which she’s starred on for seven seasons. The Shondaland political drama returned for its final run of episodes last month, and is scheduled to conclude in April.

Young is represented by UTA, Anonymous Content, and Schreck Rose Dapello Adams Berlin & Dunham.
