Pop TV has released the first trailer for the final season of “Schitt’s Creek,” and it’s full of hugs and tears.
The critically beloved sitcom is set to return for its sixth and final season on Jan. 7, with 14 more episodes before the Rose family signs off and — judging by the trailer — finally move out of Schitt’s Creek and the Rosebud Motel and go their separate ways.
“My family and I have been staying in a motel for the last three years,” Johnny says in the clip. “And I wouldn’t trade our stay there for anything.”
The final season of “Schitt’s Creek” comes at the height of the show’s popularity, with the most recent season picking up a trio of Emmy nominations, including one for Outstanding Comedy Series and individual acting nods for stars Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara.
“Schitt’s Creek” is produced by Not A Real Company Productions Inc., and executive producers are Dan and Eugene Levy, Andrew Barnsley, Fred Levy, David West Read, and Ben Feigin. Dan Levy, Annie Murphy, Chris Elliott, Emily Hampshire, Jennifer Robertson, Noah Reid, Dustin Milligan, Sarah Levy and Karen Robinson also star.
The comedy series is produced in association with CBC and Pop TV and distributed internationally by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
