“Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner had a “Wish List” of plot points he wanted to cover before the finale aired earlier this month on AMC.
Apparently, he brought that physical sheet to a Writers Guild Q&A this week, and Entertainment Weekly reporter Anthony Breznican posted a photo of it on Twitter.
The sheet titled “WISH LIST: Things We Want to Deal With Before the Series Ends” is a rundown containing 33 bullet points, per our count; 17 appear to be crossed off, either completely or partially.
Some interesting untouched angles include: “Sal (Bryan Batt) — what happened to him?”; “Pete’s knowledge of who Don is”; and “Peggy’s baby (Catherine could die and bring it back up on her deathbed) We don’t need to see the baby, but the emotional content of it could be revisited via Catherine.”
The AMC critical darling concluded on May 17, when it hauled in the series most-ever viewers (1.7 million) in the show’s key 25-54 demographic, per Nielsen’s Live Plus Same Day measurement. It also topped that group in Live Plus 3 Day delayed viewing, which AMC focuses on.
In the other important adults 18-49 demo, the finale’s 1.4 million was third-best in show history. The wrap-up episode drew 3.3 million total viewers. Both numbers are L+SD.
There are plenty more where those aforementioned dangling plot points came from; Here is the tweet with the full list:
