Seth Meyers Takes ‘A Closer Look’ at Trump’s Abuses of Presidential Power (Video)

“From now on, the only network Kellyanne Conway should be allowed on is QVC,” NBC host says of Nordstrom-gate

Seth Meyers invoked his popular segment “A Closer Look” Thursday to drill into President Trump’s recent abuses of power.

First, of course, was the well-documented Nordstrom beef over the retailer’s removal of Ivanka Trump’s clothing line. The excellent “Late Night” writers compared Trump’s now-infamous tweet against the popular mall store to a letter Abraham Lincoln definitely never wrote to some hat-makers.

The group also ganged up on Kellyanne Conway’s ethically borderline-at-best (and straight-up illegal at worst) endorsement for the brand during a Fox News Channel interview.

“From now on, the only network Kellyanne Conway should be allowed on is QVC,” Meyers quipped.

Then, there was the unfortunate moment where the sitting POTUS offered to “destroy” the career of a Texas state senator over some local legislation he doesn’t agree with. If that one missed your filters, the moment is archived here by Meyers.

About three-quarters of the way through last night’s “Closer Look,” the former “SNL” head writer and his staff shot down Conway’s notion that Trump “doesn’t tweet about everything” with a giant on-screen scrawl of all the weird things he’s made social media time for.

And, of course, there was no way Meyers was missing an opportunity for some easy “Easy D” jokes. Enjoy those in the video above.
