‘The Shannara Chronicles’ Stars Tease ‘Heartbreaking’ Season 1 Finale (Video)

“The show gets more and more epic as it goes along. The stakes get higher and higher,” star Austin Butler tells TheWrap

“The Shannara Chronicles” will wrap up its first season run on Tuesday, and according to stars Austin Butler and Aaron Jakubenko, it just might be the series’ most exciting installment yet.

“The show gets more and more epic as it goes along,” Butler told TheWrap’s Stuart Brazell in a recent interview. “The stakes get higher and higher.”

Jakubenko, who plays Ander on the MTV series from Al Gough and Miles Millar, agreed with his co-star, promising that the show would “break a few hearts.”

“I haven’t been involved in anything as heartbreaking as this,” he said. “Every single episode just steps up.”

The actor also discussed Ander’s recent ascension to the throne, following the death of his father and brother. “It’s a burden,” Jakubenko explained. “He never wanted it … it’s a painful burden to carry.”

“The Shannara Chronicles” season finale airs Tuesday, March 1 at 10/9c on MTV.
