David E. Kelley’s recently announced Disney+ series “Big Shot” has rounded out its main cast.
“UnReal” alum Shiri Appleby and “Community’s” Yvette Nicole Brown will join John Stamos in the series about a temperamental college basketball coach who, after getting fired from his job, ends up as a coach and teacher at an elite girls private high school.
Appleby will play Holly, the good-humored and down-to-earth assistant basketball coach, and Brown will play Sherilyn, the school’s no-nonsense dean. Richard Robicheaux, Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Tiana Le, Monique Green, Tisha Custodio and Cricket Wampler will also star.
Dean Lorey will executive produce and write the script with Kelley based on an original idea by “Single Parents” star Brad Garrett. Kelley, Garrett and Bill D’Elia will serve as executive producers. D’Elia is set to direct the first episode.
The project, which has received a 10-episode straight-to-series order from the streamer, is produced by ABC Studios.
