A. Smith & Co. Partners with Taiyo Kikaku on Programming

U.S. producer of “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Kitchen Nightmares” teams with “Japanese Game Show’s” production house

A. Smith & Co. Productions and Taiyo Kikaku Co., which teamed up to produce the ABC series "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" last summer, have entered into a joint programming partnership.
As part of the deal, A. Smith will adapt Taiyo Kikaku's programming formats in the U.S., while Taiyo Kikaku will convert A. Smith's formats to reach audiences in Japan and other Asian markets.
The two companies will also collaborate on new programs that they will develop and co-produce for airing both in the U.S. and abroad.
A. Smith is the producer of Fox reality shows "Hell's Kitchen" and "Kitchen Nightmares." Other A. Smith shows include truTV's "Conspiracy Theory with Jess Ventura" and "Full Throttle Saloon," Spike TV's "Pros vs. Joes," Discovery Channel's "Ultimate Car Build Off," and TV One's "Unsung."
Taiyo Kikaku will open a U.S. office that will be managed by Satoshi Akutsu.
