Ryan Gosling is set to host the Season 43 premiere episode of “Saturday Night Live” on Sept. 30.
The “La La Land” star will be joined by musical guest Jay-Z, just a few months after the release of his latest album, “4:44.”
The news was announced by Colin Jost and Michael Che on the third and final episode of “Weekend Update Summer Edition” on Thursday.

The episode will mark Gosling’s second time hosting the show, and will air a week before the premiere of his upcoming film “Blade Runner 2049.” It will be Jay-Z’s fourth time appearing as musical guest.
The NBC sketch comedy show is entering its 43rd season this fall, fresh off a record-breaking number of Emmy nominations for its previous season. Fueled by the presidential election and the rocky first few months of the Donald Trump administration, “SNL” earned a total of 22 nominations.
