‘SNL’ Taps Melissa McCarthy to Host Super Bowl Weekend Show

This will be the actress’ third time heading up the NBC sketch show

Melissa McCarthy is set to return to NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” for its Super Bowl Weekend episode airing Feb. 1, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

This will mark “The Heat” actress’ third time hosting the NBC late night sketch show. A musical guest is still to be announced. Previously, she hosted in October 2011 and last April, which garnered great reviews but average ratings.

An NBC representative told TheWrap it couldn’t confirm McCarthy’s booking at this time.

Earlier this week, the network announced that Jonah Hill will host the Jan. 25 episode with British band Bastille as the musical guest.

When the show returns on Jan. 18, Drake will pull double duty as host and musical guest.
