A snippet of new “Last Jedi” footage has been released in advance of the film dropping a full trailer Monday, sending “Star Wars” fans into anticipation overdrive.

“Get ready. Trailer tomorrow. #TheLastJedi,” the “Star Wars” Twitter account posted Sunday morning. The 11-second teaser included footage from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” of Rey (Daisy Ridley) wielding a light saber.

According to Lucasfilm, the trailer for the Rian Johnson-directed film will air during halftime of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” game between the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears that kicks off at 8:15 p.m. ET. Advance tickets will go on sale following the trailer’s release for the movie that hits theaters Dec. 15.

Franchise star Mark Hamill teased fans on Twitter by posting the footage and quipping, “You didn’t hear this from me.”

Franchise fanatics were quick to react to the announcement on social media, which perhaps should come as no surprise, given that the film has released a new trailer since the first one came out back in April after screening at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando.

“REY TRAINING WITH LUKE’S LIGHTSABER HOLY MOLY,” one enthusiastic fan wrote about the new clip.

“A long time have we waited,” another devotee tweeted, borrowing Yoda’s characteristic sentence structure.

Check out the teaser below, along with an array of reactions.
