‘StartUp’ Season 2 Trailer: Adam Brody Reinvents the Internet (Video)

Crackle drama returns for 10-episode second season on Sept. 28 with Ron Perlman joining the cast

Crackle released the first trailer for the upcoming season of “StartUp” on Tuesday, introducing Ron Perlman as a new addition to the tech drama.

Season 2 picks up following the takeover of GenCoin, an unregulated global cryptocurrency. With their startup now in the hands of the Russian Mob, Izzy Morales (Otmara Marrero), Ronald Dacey (Edi Gathegi), and Nick Talman (Adam Brody), reinvest in their partnership and launch an exciting new endeavor, a darknet prototype called ArakNet.

“There’s a new tech frontier on the horizon,” Brody says in the trailer. “I really think that this could be not only the new dark net. I think this could be the new internet.”

Perlman and Addison Timlin join the cast for Season 2 as Wes Chandler, a multi-millionaire businessman with a level-headed grit, and his daughter.

Tom Forman, Andrew Marcus, Ray Ricord, Gianni Nunnari, Shannon Gaulding and Anne Clements serve as executive producers on the series from Critical Content and Hollywood Gang Productions. Created and writer Ben Ketai also serves as executive producer and director, alongside producers Brody and Perlman.

“Start Up” returns Thursday, Sept. 28. See the Season 2 poster below:
