Starz Drops New Trailers for ‘Outlander,’ Season 2 of ‘Power’ (Video)

Network also unloads fresh photos from the time travel-infused period romance and 50 Cent-produced drama

Starz released fresh looks at breakthrough series “Outlander” and “Power” on Friday at the Television Critics Association Winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif.

The network unveiled a new trailer for Ronald D. Moore‘s time-travel period drama “Outlander,” which resumes its freshman season in April. Starz also released photos from Season 2 of the 50 Cent-produced drama “Power,” which returns this Summer.

“Outlander” went on hiatus in September, but is set to return in April. The show focuses on a World War II nurse named Claire (Caitriona Balfe) who is transported to 18th-Century Scotland. She spent much of the first half of the season trying to find her way home, but in the new trailer for upcoming episodes it seems she’s finally embracing her place in history. However, tensions will rise for other characters, with an apparent duel on the horizon. In addition to the new trailer, Starz dropped several action- and romance-heavy stills from upcoming episodes.

Starz also released a handful of new pictures from Season 2 of “Power” on Friday, as well as a video of never-before-seen moments from Season 1. Omari Hardwick stars as James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a New York City night club owner who moonlights as a drug kingpin. Lela Loren and Naturi Naughton co-star, with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in a recurring role. Courtney Kemp Agboh created the series, with 50 Cent producing.

As TheWrap previously reported, “Outlander’ debuted on Aug. 9 to over five million viewers across several platforms. The show was renewed for a second season on Aug. 15. Season 2 will be based on “Dragonfly in Amber,” the second in Diana Gabaldon‘s bestselling eight-book series.

“Power,” meanwhile, was renewed for a 10-episode Season 2 last June.
