After two years of virtual festivals, the Sundance Film Festival will stage a hybrid festival with eight theaters in Park City, Utah, four theaters in Salt Lake City and an online platform for additional screenings, Sundance organizers announced Tuesday.
Passes and ticket packages will go on sale to the public beginning Oct. 17 for the festival, which runs from Jan. 19 through Jan. 29, 2023. Online screenings will begin on Jan. 24.
This year’s options will also include a World Cinema Package, which includes tickets to 10 international documentaries and narrartive films; and an SLC Youth Pass, which allows festival-goers ages 18 to 25 with discounted access to theaters in Salt Lake City.
“We are bringing the upcoming Festival to passionate audiences in attendance in Utah and across the country online, reaffirming our emphasis on discovering new talent, empowering independent artists and projects, and ensuring communities have access to impactful storytelling,” said Joana Vicente, CEO of the Sundance Institute in a release announcing the new details.
