Syfy’s ‘Deadly Class’ Sets Mick Betancourt as New Co-Showrunner

“Shots Fired” alum steps in for Adam Targum on comics adaptation from the Russo brothers

Syfy’s “Deadly Class” adaptation has undergone a showrunner change.

Mick Betancourt has joined the series and will serve as co-showrunner alongside writers Rick Remender and Miles Orion Feldsott. He steps in for Adam Targum, who executive produced the pilot.

An adaptation of the 2014 Image Comics graphic novel, “Deadly Class” follows a homeless teen recruited into a storied elite private school where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Newcomer Benjamin Wadsworth stars in the series, alongside Benedict Wong, Lana Condor, María Gabriela de Faría, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval.

“Avengers: Infinity War” directors Joe and Anthony Russo serve as executive producers on the series, along with Betancourt, Rememder, Feldsott and Mike Larocca. Lee Toland Krieger directed the pilot.
