Sylvester Stallone’s Son Sage Found Dead of Overdose

Sage Stallone, 36, had appeared as Rocky Balboa Jr. in "Rocky V"

Sylvester Stallone's son, Sage Stallone, was found dead in his Los Angeles apartment on Friday, TMZ reports. According to the site, Stallone overdosed on pills.

"Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone," Sylvester Stallone's spokeswoman said in a statement to TheWrap. "His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha.Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man, his loss will be felt forever."

A Los Angeles County coroner spokesman told TheWrap, " We are in the intial stages of our investigation. We have no information to report at this time."

Sage (pictured, with uncle Frank Stallone), the son of the "Rocky" star and his first wife, Sasha Czack, was reportedly found by either a maid or his girlfriend, TMZ said. Paramedics pronounced him dead upon arrival at his apartment.

The younger Stallone appeared alongside his father in 1990's "Rocky V," playing Rocky Balboa Jr. He went on to appear in a handful of films including "Reflections of Evil" and "Promises Written in Water."

Stallone's attorney, George Braunstein, told the New York Post that the younger Stallone was "in good spirits" recently.

“He was in good spirits, and working on all kinds of projects,” Braunstein told the paper. “He was planning on getting married. I am just devastated. He was an extremely wonderful, loving guy. This is a tragedy.”
