‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Trailer: First Look at Leonardo, Michelangelo and Megan Fox in Action (Video)

Fox plays reporter April O’Neil, who is digging into Shredder’s sinister plans to use the secret of the ooze against New York City

For anyone worried how a Michael Bay-produced “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” reboot would turn out, Paramount has released the first look.

The teaser trailer (above) should at least put some fears to rest, since there is no indication that the turtles are aliens from another planet, as opposed to, you know, mutants. Plus, everybody’s favorite sewer surfer, Michelangelo (Noel Fisher), appears to have retained his signature sense of humor, and Leonardo (Pete Ploszek) looks like the bad-ass leader we always knew he was.

The first preview for the live-action film directed by Jonathan Liebesman doesn’t give much away, but it does hint toward a sinister master plan Shredder (William Fichtner) is preparing to unleash on New York City, while reporter April O’Neil (Megan Fox) is hot on his trail.

“TMNT” hits theaters on Aug. 8, with Alan Ritchson playing angry turtle Raphael (the one with the red mask) and Jeremy Howard playing Donatello (the one with the purple mask). Will Arnett and  Whoopi Goldberg co-star, as well.
