‘The Kominsky Method’ Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix

Chuck Lorre comedy is fresh off a pair of Golden Globes wins

Netflix has renewed its Golden Globes-winning comedy “The Kominsky Method” for a second season, the streamer announced on Thursday.

The Chuck Lorre comedy, which stars Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin, will begin production on an eight-episode second season later this month. Arkin, Douglas, Sarah Barker and Nancy Travis are all set to return as series regulars.

The news comes just a few weeks after the comedy took home two Golden Globes awards for Best Comedy Series and Douglas for lead actor. It is also up for three Screen Actors Guild Awards for its two leads and ensemble.

Created by Chuck Lorre, the comedy stars Douglas and Arkin as the once famous Sandy Kominsky and his longtime agent Norman Newlander, two friends tackling life’s inevitable curveballs as they navigate their later years in Los Angeles, a city that values youth and beauty.

Lorre, Al Higgins and Douglas serve as executive producers on the series from Chuck Lorre Productions and Warner Bros. Television.
