‘The O.C.’ Gets a Turkey of an Adaptation

“Medcezir” brings the drama of the Fox series to Turkey

“The O.C.” has relocated from southern California to Turkey.

A Turkish adaptation of the former Fox drama made its way to Turkey’s airwaves on Friday, via Star TV. The revamped “O.C” is being produced by Warner Bros. International Television Production. Ay Yapim (“My Grandfather’s People”) is also producing the 13-episode season.

Much like the original that spawned it, the Turkish version of “The O.C.” — dubbed  “Medcezir,” or “Tide” in English, according to the show’s Facebook page –follows “a group of friends and families as their lives are changed forever when an outsider arrives into their affluent ocean-side community.”
