‘The Shield’ Alum Kenny Johnson Joins ABC’s ‘Secrets and Lies’

Actor joins the previously announced Michael Ealy and the returning Juliette Lewis

Season two of ABC’s “Secrets and Lies” has found the final member of its regular cast in “The Shield” vet Kenny Johnson, joining as a series regular, TheWrap has confirmed.

Johnson will play Danny, a possible suspect in the season’s central murder case. The character is described as a man who “has that thousand-yard stare, almost appears thuggish, and the way he’s lurking and turning up repeatedly at inopportune moments makes him downright scary.”

The new season of the anthology crime series also stars the previously announced Michael Ealy, Terry O’Quinn and Juliette Lewis, the only actor to return from season one.

Each season follows Lewis’ Det. Andrea Cornell as she investigates a new crime. Season two will revolve around Ealy’s character, the smart, well-educated and hard-working Eric, who is newly married to “the one” and walking on air. While attending a party to honor the company’s transition from father (O’Quinn) to son, Eric’s wife Kate is murdered, and life as he knows it is over.

“Secrets and Lies” is a remake of an original Australian series of the same name which centers on a detective tracking a new murder each season. The first season starred Ryan Phillippe as a suburban father being investigated for the death of his neighbor’s young son.

TVLine first reported the casting.
