Raven-Symoné had only positive things to say about Thursday’s GOP debate on Friday’s episode of “The View.”
“I thought it was genius,” she told the panel of ABC’s daytime talk show. “I actually heard something for the first time in these debates.”
The co-host praised Donald Trump, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich for remaining civil during the debate.
“This is first time I have seen the Republicans act like presidential candidates,” she said. “They didn’t come after each other … There was no over-talking, no cross-talk, like we’re known for.”
Joy Behar joked that it made Univision’s Democratic debate “look like ‘Game of Thrones’” by comparison.
Donald Trump’s ex-wife Marla Maples, also set to compete on the upcoming season of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” was guest co-host on Friday’s episode and weighed in on the recent controversy surrounding violence at Trump’s rallies.
“Oh dear,” Maples said after watching a reel of some of Trump’s statements endorsing the use of violence.
“He doesn’t want to evoke violence. That’s the bottom line,” she said. “He really wants to be able to voice for peace. so, right now, it’s important that the people who are behind him understand that, too.”
