‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Director Teases Funnier Sequel: ‘I’m Just Going to Take the Second Thor Film and Add Jokes’ (Video)

Sundance 2016: Taika Waititi also gets actor Sam Neill to re-create his famous “Event Horizon” space-time paper explanation

“Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi has a brilliant idea on how to make the upcoming Marvel sequel even funnier: Add more jokes.

“I’ll take the second film and just add some jokes to that,” Waititi told TheWrap’s Jeff Sneider during an interview about his new film, “Hunt for the Wilderpeople,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah.

Asked what his reaction was to TheWrap’s article, which broke the news that he was tapped to direct the Thor sequel, Waititi said he immediately emailed Marvel to say that, “I didn’t tell them.”

Waititi then surprised Sneider with a special treat: coaching his “Hunt for the Wilderpeople” star Sam Neill to re-create the actor’s famous scene from the 1997 movie “Event Horizon” explaining space-time with the help of pen and paper.
