Tim Daly Skiing Injury May Require ‘Madam Secretary’ Rewrites

Actor broke both legs while on vacation at Sundance

“Madam Secretary” star Tim Daly was injured in a skiing accident over the weekend, which may force some rewrites on the CBS political drama, TheWrap has learned.

The actor was injured while on vacation at Sundance over the weekend, breaking both of his legs. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday, and will likely need between six to eight weeks to recover.

Production on “Madam Secretary” is not expected to be affected by the injury, and Daly is still scheduled to appear in every episode of the season. The show’s producers and writers will find a way to either film around his injury or incorporate it into the story.

The actor stars on the series as Henry McCord, the husband to Tea Leoni’s character, Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord. Bebe Neuwirth, Željko Ivanek, Erich Bergen, Patina Miller, Geoffrey Arend, Wallis Currie-Wood, Kathrine Herzer, Evan Roe, Keith Carradine and Sebastian Arcelus also star.

Daly’s previous credits include the NBC sitcom “Wings,” on which he starred on alongside Stephen Weber and Crystal Bernard for eight seasons, and the “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Private Practice,” which ran for six seasons on ABC.
