Tim McGraw Tells ‘Foxcatcher’ Director Bennett Miller Stories About Faith Hill and Music (Exclusive Video)

For Amex Unstaged’s latest concert

Before directing his big American Express Unstaged show at the Hammerstein Ballroom, Oscar-nominated filmmaker Bennett Miller went down to Tennessee with Tim McGraw to better understand the stories the country music icon tells on stage.

The pair rode in an old Jeep that had significant meaning for McGraw, as he explains in this exclusive, Miller-directed feature.

“When Faith and I were dating, it was my first headlining tour and she was my opening act, and I wanted to take her out for a cheeseburger and I didn’t have a car, so I asked around and I saw this red Jeep sitting there, it was a local stagehand’s,” McGraw remembered. “I asked the guy if I could borrow his Jeep. So I borrowed his Jeep and we went out and had a cheeseburger, and on the way back, I pulled over on the side of this cornfield, and that’s when I told her I’m flat in love, and either this is going to be a permanent relationship or I’m going to have to get out.”

Ten years and a romantic gesture later, and we have one of many sweet stories that are told in the video above.

Hill will be joining McGraw on stage on Tuesday night; concert begins at 9 p.m. at AmexUnstaged.com.
