Along with the financial news, Material also announced that Ben Tierney, a former  creative executive at Johnny Depp’s Infinitum Nihil, has been hired as vice president of production, while Anastasiya Kukhtareva has been promoted to creative executive.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Rich and Ben into the fold,” Maguire said in a statement. “Alongside Anastasiya, I feel like we’ve assembled a great team to lead Material Pictures into its next chapter.”

“This is an exciting time for Material Pictures,” new partner Weinberg added. “There is a really strong slate of projects in development and a talented team of executives and filmmakers at the helm.”

"Good People," Henrik Ruben Genz's adaptation of the novel by Marcus Sakey, is the first of those projects scheduled to begin production. Ed Zwick's "Pawn Sacrifice" and Craig Zobel's "Z for Zachariah," another novel adaptation, are on deck.

Material produced last summer's disappointing Broadway adaptation "Rock of Ages" and 2010's "Country Strong," a music-themed drama starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.

Maguire, who has been absent at the box office for a few years, will next be seen in theaters alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Baz Luhrmann’s "The Great Gatsby" when the film debuts on May 10.
