Tom Brokaw: ‘All Is Well’ as He’s Released From Hospital (Update)

"Mistakenly took a half dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual"

Tom Brokaw tweeted that "all is well" after he was taken to a Charlotte, N.C.-area hospital this morning because he felt ill on the set of MSNBC's "Morning Joe." He was released within a few hours.

Brokaw, the 72-year-old former anchor of NBC Nightly News, is in Charlotte to cover the Democratic National Convention. A medical evaluation and a round of tests found him to be in "great health," NBC News president Steve Capus said.

"We're immensely grateful to the team at Carolinas Medical Center for their excellent care and professionalism," Capus added.
