Tom Hardy is set to produce and possibly star in New Line’s adaptation of the revenge comic “100 Bullets,” an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.
The studio is developing an adaptation of the Vertigo title created by writer Brian Azzarello and artist Eduardo Risso, in which victims are given a gun and 100 untraceable bullets with which to visit consequence-free retribution on their culprits.
The casting would mark Hardy’s second DC Comics screen adaptation, following his turn as Bane in the finale to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy “The Dark Knight Rises.” Vertigo is an imprint of DC Comics.
In June, DC’s movie portfolio was restructured such that superheroes will be produced by Warner Bros.’ and Vertigo’s characteristically darker, more offbeat stories are being handled by New Line. That effected the move of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s “Sandman” movie from Warner Bros. to New Line along with several other properties.
