Tonys to Air June 9 From Radio City Music Hall

Nominations to be announced April 30

The Tony Awards will be broadcast live on CBS from Radio City Music Hall in New York on Sunday, June 9.

The 67th annual ceremony marks a return to Radio City Music Hall after two years at the Beacon Theater. The nominations will be announced live on Tuesday, April 30 from New York City.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment will return as executive producers, and Weiss will direct for the 14th consecutive year.

The awards, first held on April 6, 1947 at the Waldorf Astoria's Grand Ballroom, are presented by Tony Award Productions, which is a joint venture of The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing, which founded the Tonys in 1947.

The Tonys were founded in memorial to Antoinette ("Tony") Perry, the American Theatre Wing's World War II chairperson. Winners are selected by about 830 eligible voters, including voting members of The Broadway League and the board of directors and designated members of the advisory committee of the American Theatre Wing.
