‘Tramps’ Director Adam Leon Explains Why No One’s Legs Get Broken in His Heist Movie (Video)

“That’s not really how someone who’s successfully going to pull off a crime endeavor works,” writer-director tells TheWrap’s Steve Pond

“Tramps” director Adam Leon says the film could fall in the crime genre, but the indie romance features surprisingly little violence and mayhem.

“That’s not really how someone who’s successfully going to pull off a crime endeavor works,” Leon said in an interview with TheWrap’s Steve Pond,.

He said the typical crazy crime boss-type character we often see heist movies wouldn’t necessarily be a great thief in real life.

“That person’s probably in jail,” he said.

“Tramps” stars Callum Turner and Grace Van Patten as a small-time criminal and driver who screw up a drop and must sort things out or face dire consequences. Leon directed and wrote the screenplay, based off a story by himself and Jamund Washington.
