TV Guide Magazine Promotes Doug Brod to Editor-in-Chief, Michael Schneider Named Executive Editor

The television publication announces major changes in their executive staffing

TV Guide Magazine on Monday named Doug Brod as their new Editor-in-Chief, CEO David J. Fishman announced Monday.

Brod previously served as Executive Editor of the publication, which he joined in 2012. Before that, Brod was Editor-in-Chief of SPIN magazine and also an Entertainment Weekly editor for over a decade.

Michael Schneider, previously the Los Angeles bureau chief, will be take over as Executive Editor of the television publication.

He will report directly to Brod and remain on the west coast.

“Doug has done a superb job in the past two years managing the New York staff and work flow, and evolving the voice of the magazine,” Fishman said in the announcement. “His extensive entertainment-journalism experience will help sharpen our coverage of the ever-changing world of television and direct the staff to produce content on a variety of platforms. Mike has been not only the anchor of our busy Los Angeles bureau but has also served as the face of our magazine in the Hollywood community. He will now work more closely with Doug in a strategic and managerial capacity. Doug and Mike will be key architects as we develop a more robust digital presence.”
