Uber Offering Rides in Optimus Prime Ahead of ‘Transformers 4’ Premiere

The leader of the Autobots will be picking up lucky Los Angeles passengers on June 21

Rideshare service Uber already has Hollywood connections including Ashton Kutcher and WME co-CEO Ari Emanuel, but on June 21, the company teams up with its biggest showbiz player yet: Optimus Prime.

Between the hours of 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., Los Angeles users will have the chance to take a ride in the Autobots leader’s cab ahead of the June 27 debut of “Transformers: Age of Extinction.”

According to Uber, there will be only one fire-blazoned blue truck rolling around town, so “making contact will be difficult and may take many tries.”

But for them, it’s win-win!

To roll the dice, simply open the Uber app, select the Autobots option, set pickup location, tap “roll out” and see if you make contact with the robot in disguise.

The company doesn’t specify, but he’ll probably remain in disguise throughout the duration of the ride.
