Update Thursday 10/24/14: USA Network has once again pulled “It Takes a Choir” from the schedule. A show representative told TheWrap that a new premiere date is still to be determined.

USA Network has finally set a new premiere date for reality series “It Takes a Choir.”

The series will premiere on Friday, Oct. 24 at 11 p.m. Eight all-new episodes will run through December 12.

The series was originally slated to premiere last November, but the network pulled it from the schedule in a last minute decision.

The series stars Gareth Malone, the star of BBC’s documentary series “The Choir,” as he brings music to Americans in desperate need of the community, confidence and communication skills choral music can inspire.

Like on his U.K. series, Malone pinpoints a group he feels could gain something from the challenges of building a community choir. Unlike his other show, he doesn’t have eight or so months to get them together. He only has about eight days.

“It’s so intense because people are doing songs they never sung, they haven’t gotten the preparation time to get used to the idea,” Malone told TheWrap last year. “They suddenly find themselves on stage in front of a whole community singing a song they learned five or six days ago. It really brings out extraordinary things in people.”
