Van de Beek, Shefa Upped at CBS Marketing

As new exec VP and creative director, Van de Beek fills the post held by Ron Scalera, who died in April

Garen van de Beek was named executive VP and creative director, CBS Marketing Group, and Lori Shefa will succeed him as senior VP of on-air promotion for the network.

Van de Beek fills the spot left vacant by the death in April of Ron Scalera, who had held the position since 1997.

In his new role, van de Beek will be responsible for all creative and production elements of the network’s marketing, including on-air promotion, print, cable, online, digital, outdoor and radio.

Shefa will oversee the conception and production of an assortment of promotional campaigns and spots to launch and support CBS programming.

They both report to George Schweitzer, president of CBS Marketing.

Van de Beek joined the marketing department in 1999 as executive director, on-air advertising and promotion and worked his way up the ranks.

Shefa has been VP of on-air promotion since 2004, after serving in the same role at UPN for two years.
