Vista’s Veezi Technology Will Link Independent Theaters to Fandango for Mobile Ticketing

The two companies team to provide software that will let smaller exhibitors sell tickets online, via mobile

Fandango has partnered with Vista Entertainment Solutions to provide Veezi software that will enable independent theaters owners to work with the online movie ticket broker, the two companies said Tuesday.

Veezi is a cloud-based cinema management system designed to enable cinema owners to sell tickets and concessions from one system. The technology was developed by Vista and lets smaller theater owners who subscribe to the service access Fandango’s online and mobile ticketing options, as the major exhibition chains do now.

“Veezi is all about building an empathetic community,” says Matthew Preen, general manager of online for Vista. “We believe in giving the smaller theater owners the real tools they need, recognizing that they have unique challenges and different requirements from the larger theater chains.

“With Fandango, every U.S. exhibitor, regardless of size, will have the opportunity to sell tickets online and via mobile at the click of a button, and at the same time generate increased exposure for their theaters.”

Fandango president Paul Yanover called the partnership, which will allow local theaters and art houses to link with Fandango, “a big win for movie fans across the country.”

The two companies are celebrating their partnership at the ongoing CinemaCon convention in Las Vegas Tuesday night, with a Celebration of Independent Cinema party at Caesar’s Palace to benefit the children’s charity Young Variety.
