Warwick Davis, who played the ewok Wickett in “Return of the Jedi” and dual roles of Weazel and Wald in “The Phantom Menace,” confirmed that he will have a role in “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Davis broke the news via a video uploaded to the official Star Wars YouTube account.
It’s unclear what role(s) Davis might play this time, though aside from Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill, it’s unclear who any of the cast members are playing. The new trilogy is led by a young cast including John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver and Domhnall Gleeson.
J.J. Abrams is directing “Star Wars: Episode VII,” which hits theaters Dec. 18, 2015. It’s expected to be the first film in a new trilogy, while two films set in the “Star Wars” universe are also in the works. One will be directed by “Chronicle’s” Josh Trank and the other by “Looper” director Rian Johnson.
