Tom Cruise does his own stunts — even if he’s terrified to do them.
In a new “Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation” behind-the-scenes clip, Cruise talks about preparing for and executing a death-defying stunt, during which he hangs off a moving plane.
“I couldn’t sleep the night before, and then came the day. I was like, ‘OK, this is really going to happen,'” Cruise says. “If something went wrong, I can’t get into the airplane until we land.”
The footage from a pulse-pounding action sequence teased in a trailer for the Paramount release hitting theaters on July 31 shows Cruise strapped onto a plane by a harness, hanging on as it taxis and takes off from a runway.
“I’m feeling the force of the wind hit me. I’m actually scared shitless,” he says.
“Rogue Nation” reunites Cruise with “Jack Reacher” director Christopher McQuarrie, who wrote and directed the fifth installment of the blockbuster franchise that launched in 1996.
