‘What’s the Deal?’ With Universal’s Monster Movie Universe (Video)

Jeff Sneider on the studio’s decision to hire Chris Morgan and Alex Kurtzman as creative godfathers

In the latest episode of “What’s the Deal With Jeff Sneider,” TheWrap‘s film reporter breaks down Universal’s decision to hire Chris Morgan (“Fast Five”) and Alex Kurtzman (“The Amazing Spider-Man 2”) as creative godfathers of the studio’s universe of classic movie monsters, including Dracula, the Wolfman and the Mummy.

The studio has high hopes for this series of genre films, which Sneider has dubbed the UMMU for Universal’s Monster Movie Universe.

While Sneider tips his cap to Morgan for pulling off a tricky balancing act with the “Fast and Furious” franchise, he’s not quite sure why Kurtzman is coming along for this particular ride.
