White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders mistakenly referred to Donald Trump as “President Obama” twice on Tuesday, immediately launching a storm of jokes at her expense on Twitter.
Sanders was reading a statement defending Trump’s decision to end DACA at the daily press briefing on Tuesday morning when she said “President Obama is laying out a responsible 24-month phase out,” before she was corrected by reporters.
Shortly after apologizing for misspeaking, Sanders nearly made the same mistake again, catching herself midway through saying “President Obama.”
“I know Sarah, we all wish it was Obama too,” read one tweet following her ironic faux pas.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders just referred to Trump as "President Obama" twice because she can't believe Trump is President either.
