Will Ferrell Dragged Out by Security After Drilling Cheerleader in Face With Basketball (Video)

The funnyman was carried away after the “attack” which was being filmed for an upcoming movie

Will Ferrell pelted a cheerleader with a basketball at the Pelicans-Lakers game in New Orleans Wednesday night .

In the video, Ferrell was supposed to attempt a half-court shot, but instead launched the basketball into a woman’s face during the halftime show. (Watch the moment at the 1:30 mark)

Fellow cheerleaders and the Pelicans’ mascot rushed by her side at the Smoothie King Center. Security swiftly dragged a “drunken” Ferrell out of the arena.

But the actor won’t face any charges for the jaw-dropping moment because the cheerleader was an actress.

Ferrell was filming a scene for his upcoming movie “Daddy’s Home,” following a man who wreaks havoc in his ex-wife’s life after she remarries.

Directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, the film co-stars Linda Cardellini and comedian Hannibal Buress. The movie reteams Mark Wahlberg with Ferrell after 2010’s buddy-cop movie “The Other Guys.”
